We care about access control.

How will contactless access control will benefit your care home?

If the last twelve months have taught us anything, it’s that protecting the ones we love should be our utmost priority. Care homes were impacted significantly during the peak of the pandemic; traditional access control playing a huge part of the spread of COVID19.

The majority of care homes use keypads to grant access to care workers, which increase the risk of passing germs from one person to the next through a common touch point. When working with clinically vulnerable people, reducing exposure to germs is absolutely vital.

Keypads are also particularly hard to clean – the acidity in most antibacterial cleaners clog up the pads and damage the electrics, leaving them faulty and useless in a number of months.

On another note, it’s rare for keypad codes to be changed in care homes, which creates an added security risk for patients, visitors and care workers who are accessing the facility.

Enter stage right, Facentry for care homes. By swapping keypads and cards for contactless Facentry technology, the chances of transmitting bacteria are significantly lower; that’s the beauty of contactless access control. It’s also a more environmentally friendly option, as contactless access control eliminates the need for plastic key cards (which let’s face it, we always lose anyway!).

By enrolling specific users onto the system, pick and choose who’s granted access to your care home, or allocate users specific times for access. From visiting family members, to care workers across a number of different facilities, the choice is yours. Equally, grant access to storerooms or medicine cabinets for specific validated individuals.
